Veronica is falling for two different men, but what would it look like if she got to try out dating both of them at the same time?
Fresh off the heels of the Teenage Apocalypse trilogy, beloved cult director Gregg Araki decided it was high time that he made a screwball comedy. But, being that Araki is one of the founders of New Queer Cinema, this would be far from a traditional romantic comedy. Led by Kathleen Robertson’s old MGM-style charisma and supported by the two greatest himbos of the 90s’ Johnathon Schaech and Matt Keeslar, this candy-coated romp carves out its own space by allowing the female protagonist to decide what she wants and allow herself to feel free to step outside of traditional monogamous relationships. While this is easily one of Araki’s most accessible films, it still showcases his distinctive high key lighting, Nylon Magazine style production design, and scrumptiously erotic shot design. This film is the perfect way to ring in the new year, fall in love, and choose to live a life that feels right for you.
