The arts & culture industry is too often dominated by arbitrary barriers to entry. The result is that nearly 80% of those employed in arts management are white, straight, able-bodied, and highly educated. This course seeks to break down those barriers by equipping students with basic principles of arts management.
This course is for those looking for employment in the arts/culture sector (administrator, educator, etc.); those looking to jumpstart their own arts nonprofit; and those looking to strike out on their own as artists.
Course topics include:
- Marketing & Strategic Communications
- Development & Finances
- Legalities/Know-Your-Rights & Leadership
- Community Organizing & Public Policy in the Arts
- Getting a Job
$150 registration fee includes all six sessions, plus a 1-on-1 resume/cover letter consultation!
The course will meet on Zoom, Thursdays from 7:30-9:00, starting 9/16 and ending 10/21.
