Description
This Supporter Session covers best practices and experimental techniques for treating recorded vocals in Ableton Live.
Led by resident teaching artist Kate Siefker, this workshop will include:
✱ A brief overview of microphone selection, preamps, and recording techniques
✱ Examples of pioneering vocal processing from artists such as SOPHIE and Laurie Anderson
✱ Effects processing: frequency modulation, temporal manipulation, and dynamics
✱ Creating intricate signal chains: series, parallel, and using vocal synthesis
✱ Rhythmic effects: side-chain gating, granular synthesis, pitch shifting, and vocoding
Together we will discuss individual practices and how to strategically place processed vocals within a mix.
Ideal for those with basic knowledge of Ableton Live.
Please note: ticket registration closes 30 minutes prior to event start time.
