Talk a Walk on the Wild (Plant) Side

Berkeley, California
$22.46 (includes all fees)

Personal relationship with the world of plant medicine is our ancestral birthright and one that can empower us to heal our own bodies, minds, and spirits. As we in the Northern Hemisphere awaken to the brilliance of springtime, let’s get to know the wild plants that are growing right now. What joy blossoms as we fall in love with our other-than-human kin and forge relationships with these magical, complex, and ancient beings. Join herbalist dominatrix Mistress Wild Iris in an exploration of plants growing wildly at this time, and meet a few of those whose properties are indicated for this very potent moment. Join Mistress Wild Iris as you take a walk with her in a feral garden in occupied Ohlone territory (aka the luscious hills of the Bay Area) and learn about 15 (or so) plants that tend to grow abundantly in wild spaces here in California and throughout the continental US. Topics explored include plant identification, wildcraft practice, medicinal virtues, and exploration of invigorating wild foods -including a few specific recipes for preparing them.

The class will be offered by video, in real time, by Mistress Wild Iris. Questions will be answered throughout, with encouragement to save question time towards the end to maintain flow of the talk. Plants covered include (plus or minus a few): Nettles, Oxalis, Wild lettuce, Watercress, Thistle, Wild onion, Wild geranium, Yellow Dock, Cleavers, Mugwort, Chickweed, Horsetail, Yarrow, Miners lettuce, Wild Chervil

Class is at 11am PST / 2pm EST
