Join Ross Fish, owner of Moffenzeef Modular for a deep dive into building drum sounds from the ground up using modular synthesis. We will be going over the most popular sounds created by analog synthesis, mainly from drum machines produced by Roland in the 1970s & 1980s. After the basics have been explained and deconstructed, the workshop will then go into more esoteric percussion applications that are unique to modular synthesis as well as demonstrations of how to expand upon these basic percussive concepts. To make the class streamlined and easier to understand, Ross will be using VCV rack to demonstrate these concepts. The concepts in this workshop can be utilized across a variety of platforms beyond just eurorack modular synthesis.
