Talk Bazaar is Alex DeSimine - NYC-based multi-instrumentalist and big pillowy softie. Recent works have included art documentary scores, the performance of an original piece with the 60-person Brooklyn Choir Project, and an LP that straddles the sonic worlds of indie rock, electronica, acid jazz, ambient, and folk. Their upcoming album “( abode )” deals with living in our modern imperialist hellscape - examining the causes and symptoms without sacrificing the bops required to keep joy alive in the face of it all. Beyond their solo work and film composition work, Talk Bazaar is often on- and off-stage supporting the visions of other friends and confidantes, including Hannah Frances, Tasha, Panther Hollow, Ackerman, and Alexia Avina.
Through landscapes of shimmering open tunings, Brooklyn-based songwriter and clarinetist Isabel Shaye weaves sweeping melodies and intricate guitar work. Her writing spins emotional webs, delving into the parts of ourselves and our relationships that remain just beyond our grasp. Her newly released debut album, The Giant Squid, uses the ocean’s most enigmatic creature as a guide for exploring the mystery and power of the human mind.
Doors will open at 7:00PM, performance starts at 8:30PM.
