Join us this Wednesday, October 8th at 7:30pm for a screening of the political thriller "Z."
This Academy Award winning film is loosely based on the assassination of Greek radical activist Gregoris Lambrakis. "Z" is known for its often dizzying, rhythmic editing and its documentary style cinematography heavy on close-ups and handheld techniques to elicit a chaotic environment of political paranoia and turmoil.
The film explores the impacts of political violence and anti-opposition crackdowns on a democracy, and raises difficult questions about the viability of investigative journalism and the legal system to seek the truth and justice in the face of authoritarian conspiracies and pressure.
