Join us for a hands-on, beginner-friendly two-day workshop exploring two beautiful, complementary art forms — printmaking and bookbinding — with an emphasis on creativity, experimentation, and DIY techniques you can recreate at home.
You can sign up for either one day or both — each day works as a standalone session, but together they make a wonderfully connected creative journey.
(10/2, 630-930) Monotype Printing for Beginners & Beyond
We’ll dive into the versatile, painterly world of monotype printing — a process beloved by beginners for its immediacy and by seasoned artists for its endless creative possibilities. Using accessible tools and materials, we’ll explore multiple approaches to creating prints.
(10/3, 630-930) Japanese Stab-Binding
On the second day, we’ll shift from prints to pages. Using some of the prints you’ve created, we’ll explore two styles of Japanese stab-binding: the classic four-hole binding and a more decorative, ornamental variation.
We’ll discuss both traditional methods and creative adaptations, so whether you’re making a simple sketchbook at home or crafting a refined, exhibition-ready artist’s book, you’ll have the techniques you need.
