Haskell Wexler’s first documentary follows members of a Bay Area chapter of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) as they travel on a chartered bus to attend the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. On the road, members of the San Francisco delegation discuss issues central to organizing, arriving finally in D.C. to join a 250,000 people strong crowd converged from across the country to march Selected shorts will accompany The Bus, supplementing the feature’s themes, problematics, and presentation.
