The Motek vision was conceptualised one morning after the night before in 2012. It’s aim was to showcase international acts in intimate spaces across London’s underground. We wanted to create an environment free of the usual bullshit associated with nightlife - No bossy bouncers, no bitchy door girls, no overpriced drinks, no velvet ropes. Motek became a place where people could be themselves, make new friends and listen to internationally acclaimed electronic music artists in interesting and intimate spaces, giving our events the ‘house party’ feel.

Motek bookings had to be interesting and many were Live acts, London debuts or artists pushing the limits in other ways. Some of the artists to grace the Motek decks include: Slam, Mind Against, My Favorite Robot, Fur Coat, Lake People, Louie Fresco, Nitin, The/Das, Signal Flow, Mark Henning, Maher Daniel, Shall Ocin, Cesare vs Disorder, Max Cooper, Simon Baker, Balcazar & Sordo, Ahmet Sisman, Eric Volta, Jonny Cruz, Bastard Love, Forrest., Pornbugs, Superlounge, Mario Basanov +more.

As Motek quickly grew into one of the most respected club nights in London, the Motek team knew that something had to be done to grow the brand abroad. There have since been events in the US, Canada, Austria, South Africa, Mauritius, Norway, Germany and Slovakia.

The international events weren’t enough though and after some deliberation in 2012 the label Motek Music was born. The label has since hosted music from artists such as: Eric Volta, Namito, Miyagi, My Favorite Robot, Ron Flatter, Jonny Cruz, Of Norway, Reude Hagelstein, HearThug, Fabio Giannelli, Louie Fresco, Balcazar & Sordo, Metrika, Siopis, Stefan Z, Third Son, Dance Spirit, Jay Tripwire, Gab Rhome, Death on the Balcony, Martin Landsky, Techno Fruhstuck, Kora, ThermalBear and many many more.
