The Atmospheric Music Alliance presents “slowroom,” an hour of slow music discourse, performance, and sharing every third Friday at 27 Cafe.

Miyaxx (mee-yahx) is the new project of songwriter Lea Thomas and artist/producer John Thayer (Ezra Feinberg, Arp, YAI). Their forthcoming debut album introduces a sound the duo describe as “nighttime fuzz folk,” a distinct union of each artist’s strengths. Thomas’s expressive guitar playing, gently reassuring voice, and meditative lyricism provide a steady thread throughout the album, guiding listeners through moments of uncertainty, reflection, and release. Surrounding this, Thayer creates immersive soundscapes using synths, field recordings, and organic percussion. The result is a sonic atmosphere that feels both detailed and dreamlike, grounded by Thayer’s extensive experience as a producer and engineer.
