Ever wanted to get into submission wrestling but weren't sure where to start? Want to throw down with friends at a party, but aren't sure how to avoid injury? We've got a workshop that could help with that!
Submission Wrestling is a full-body-entanglement sport. Partners lock up, grapple for control, and attempt to make each other surrender by using submission holds.
This workshop will provide newcomers with a set of basic tactics and techniques that will allow them to hit the mats right away.
We'll cover:
- Safety! How to play rough while minimizing risk.
- Objectives! Positions and submissions.
- And most importantly, HOW TO START by making first contact.
There will also be an opportunity for participants to try their new skills against resistance ("live training"), if they wish.

ATTIRE: We recommend comfortable athletic clothing, such as t-shirts and shorts, rash guards, yoga pants, or anything that allows easy movement and isn't overly baggy. No belt buckles or other hardware, please.
OBSERVERS WELCOME: If you are nervous about getting on the mats for a first time, you can come and just watch. Meet fellow attendees, ask questions, and check out what's going on here.
