Current Space is excited to announce new Screen Printing workshops with our resident printer Nick Karvounis.

October 22nd & 29th - 6pm - 9:30pm

This two session intensive (limited to four people per) will cover all the bases from creating film positives, making a proper screen, set up, registration, edition printing and reclamation from the ground up. Participants will create a two - color 11”x15” paper (flat stock) edition from scratch utilizing both wet and dry media on film. The first class will demo and lecture the process from beginning to end, and the second class will be a guided open studio where the participants will print. Nick Karvounis is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work primarily revolves around printed matter. He has been faculty at many academic institutions including the Corcoran College of Art & Design, California College of the Arts, VCU, and The Maryland Institute College of Art where he was Full Time Faculty in Printmaking for six years. Nick’s personal work and collaborative projects are in collections such as The Whitney Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, SFMOMA, Luring Augustine and Rutgers Center for Innovative Print and Paper.

Space Access –
Physical: This workshop is located in the basement facility and is accessed by a flight of stairs. The courtyard and first floor, including restrooms, are all ground level without any steps or curbs. However, the restroom is not wheelchair accessible.

Parking: Pay-for street parking available directly out front, if filled: Franklin St, Park Ave, or Howard St. There is also a pay lot on corner of Franklin St and Park Ave (behind Current Space). If you park in this lot directly behind the back gate, be sure to pay – they tow extremely aggressively.
