Join us for the October edition of the NYC Event Organizers Meetup — a monthly gathering for connecting with the venue hosts and organizers behind New York’s art, DIY, and music events. The goal is to share resources, connect across scenes, and help each other make things happen.

This month’s meetup is Tuesday, October 14 from 7–10PM at The City Reliquary in Williamsburg.

The City Reliquary is that small brick building on Metropolitan you’ve probably walked past a hundred times. It's a community museum dedicated to the neighborhood’s role in collecting and preserving itself. From seltzer bottles to schist cores to a burnt-out lightbulb from the Statue of Liberty’s torch, the Reliquary holds the bones of the city.

We’ll be joined by Jacob Ford, Designer About Town, whose work has been described as “unique” and “turned in past the deadline” by key figures in art and architecture. Jacob is part of Mmuseumm, serves on the board of the City Reliquary, and has been a member of the New York Neo-Futurists since 2023.

This month’s agenda:
- Quick intros to kick things off
- A few words from Jacob on the Reliquary’s story and work
- Open floor for mingling and shared problem-solving
- Space for organizers to share the puzzles they’re working on with their own events — there’s almost always someone who’s already puzzled through the same thing

A few of the puzzles that surfaced last month:
- Powering a pop-up espresso bar entirely by solar or battery
- Making small museums and community spaces sustainable without burning out their organizers
- Uniting NYC’s scattered creative pockets so artists aren’t working in silos
- Finding affordable, artist-friendly venues that last longer than one season
