About "Folarin 2":

Wale is in album mode, and what better way to usher in his latest era than by tagging his collaborator and longtime rap companion in Cole. With a contagiously energetic Cool & Dre beat lining the ribs of the track—including the same electric bass sample used for Q-Tip’s 1999 classic “Vivrant Thing”—Wale builds out the body with bars that entice the club to get up and start dancing. Then enters the Dreamville head honcho, J. Cole, who tags in and boasts about being the franchise player while the competition can’t even “buy a layup.” The last time these two rappers connected was on Wale’s song “My Boy” off his 2018 EP Free Lunch.
