Emergent Patching: Utilizing Ecological Principles in Generative Composition Workshop

Portland, Oregon
Free - $22.46 (includes all fees)

In this hands-on workshop, Portland based artist and educator Casual Decay demonstrates generative composition techniques and breaks down evolving modular patches.

Bridging the gap between technical expertise and artistic inspiration, we will explore the roots of generative composition, along with various principles of ecology and how they can inspire more complex and interrelated synthesis and composition. In this workshop we will discuss how to use a variety of synthesizers and effects to approximate the dynamics of the natural world while maintaining melodic and compositional cohesion.
