Paocai Bio is a mini workshop series at Tea Base which will explore the intersections of community + biology through a Chinese Canadian lens.
Paocai’s second workshop will be exploring “food as medicine”. We will be learning how to make two different kinds of traditional medicinal soups and making one of them together as a group, with Jade Cheng, that we will be drinking afterwards. This workshop also includes a brief overview of traditional Chinese medicine, its methodologies, and a collection of research papers. Every participant will leave with a zine (which includes both recipes we’ll be making in the workshop), and a small package at the end to make something sweet and healthy at home. Tickets are $20-$40 on a sliding scale.
We solely operate on the basis of paying our workshop leaders and paying for materials. If you have the means to purchase a ticket at the higher tier, it helps us provide more programming like this.
Paocai Club Bio Lab is independently funded and run through Tea Base. Please donate at a higher tier if you can and would like to see more of this kind of programming. All curious participants are welcome!
No one is refused for lack of funds, energy exchange is available, please email us at info@myteabase.com
