~*~ WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF VOICE OVER ~*~
A secret strategy for artists to make a living by tapping into the vein of the commercial engine! (and also lend our voices to projects that matter to us).
Commercials, cartoons, podcasts, video games, apps, documentary narration, audiobooks, automated telephone messages, PSA's-- voice over covers a TON of bases. If you enjoy using your voice and are curious about putting it to work in a professional capacity, I invite you to join me in this Intro to VO workshop that will orient you to the world of voice over, help you zero in on your niche, and provide you with a foundational understanding of how to launch a VO career.
I’ve been working professionally as a voice over artist since 2012, and have found it to be an incredibly valuable monetary supplement to my life as an artist. It allows for a flexible, self-customized schedule, has the potential to free you from your day job, and sometimes, if you hit the bullseye, make a whole lotta dough.
There is definitely a learning curve (not to mention an often-massive economic barrier to entry) to figuring out how the industry works, and it can be super overwhelming to navigate by yourself. When I was getting started, it helped me immensely to seek guidance from experienced professionals. Now, I’d like to offer the same to others who are interested in breaking in to the biz.

INSTRUCTOR BIO
Becca Kauffman got her ‘big break’ in voiceover landing the on-air promos for the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, the year Beyonce headlined. A lifelong performer and devotee of creative vocalization, she has since lent her voice to national television and radio commercials, on-air promos and video tutorials, voicemails, apps, and podcasts. She is currently the voice of the 2020 Grub Hub campaign, a regular contributing actor to Meet Cute podcast, and the tour guide for an augmented reality experience of Ancient Greece.
Other gigs of note include Michelle Wolf’s singing voice on The Break with Michelle Wolf, an astounding number of anti-depressant spots, and the elevator voice of Calgary City Hall.
She has toured extensively, nationally and internationally, as singer and guitarist/keyboardist of the band Ava Luna, and currently performs and makes music via the persona-driven vehicle, Jennifer Vanilla.
