Join us at the end of March for our first ingredient-themed dinner: Olive oil.
Olives, along with wheat and grapes, are a historical staple of Italian cooking. Unfortunately, olive oil production is in crisis today as farmers struggle to protect their crops against extreme weather conditions that have left the trees highly susceptible to a particularly infectious bacteria carried by the spittlebug.
For this dinner we'll underscore olive oil's culinary importance by highlighting the ways Italians ingeniously employ it in their cooking, from heady, aromatic dips to sensational confits, custards and tarts.
Dinner will begin with a glass of bubbly followed by a five-course meal, served mostly family-style. A thoughtfully curated wine list will be available for purchase. Guests are welcome to bring their own bottles for a $15 corkage fee.
A portion of the proceeds of this dinner will be donated to Slow Food Italia to support their efforts to cultivate and foster sustainable agricultural practices. We look forward to seeing you at the table!
