The Poetry Society of New York presents the June 2023 Community Verse: How Does Identity Inspire Care & Happiness in Writing?
The Poetry Society of New York is thrilled to formally introduce Community Verse: A Virtual BIPOC Poets Space. This is a monthly, free, online gathering for Black, Indigenous, and other Persons of Color with an interest in poetry to connect in a safe space: to share work, experiences, and discourse. If you are not BIPOC-identifying, we kindly invite you to attend other PSNY events. While topics do not necessarily center around being BIPOC, this community space is designed specifically for the BIPOC experience.
Each month, Community Verse functions as a workshop, discussion space, or features a speaker from our community. We welcome the sharing of resources, such as literature, community events, and grants available for application. Respectfully and consensually connecting with other members outside of the space is encouraged.
Attendees of Community Verse are granted complimentary access to PSNY’s weekly, seasonal workshops!
This month's workshop will be hosted by Lola Anaya, DEI & Accessibility Associate at PSNY!
