Max Meetup, Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California
Free

Join the LA Max community at Coaxial Arts Foundation on August 16 at 7 PM. This is the second of a monthly series of meetups focused on the creation of music and multimedia art using the software Max by Cycling ‘74. These events feature talks and performances from people who use Max, plus free time and space to learn, patch, and hang out with others who love computer music and art.

This event is free and welcomes people of all skill levels, experiences, races, genders, sexual orientations, and nationalities.

This month’s theme is Image as inspiration

Drew Zercoe is a Oakland-based musician who makes drone music under the name Field of Fear. For his most recent album, Ashes, Drew turned still images into simple yet but engrossing controllers for synthesis patches in Max. This month, Drew will walk us through his patch for Ashes, and we’ll take some time to make our own image sonification patches as well.

If you plan to attend this event, please RSVP.
Mask wearing is highly recommended indoors. N/95, KN/95, surgical masks suggested and available.

Thanks to Cycling ‘74 and Coaxial Arts Foundation for supporting the Los Angeles Max Meetups.
