Digital Sampling

Free - $6.63 (includes all fees)

Description

This workshop offers an in-depth introduction to digital sampling techniques using Ableton Live.

Resident teaching artist, Kate Siefker, will demonstrate the fundamental steps of identifying, importing, slicing, and manipulating samples to create variations. The workshop will cover a range of techniques, including pitch shifting, time stretching, and filtering, which you can use to modify the pitch, rhythm, and timbre of your samples.

Following this, there will be a period of independent exploration where you'll be given the opportunity to create a piece of music using exclusively samples. Kate will be on hand to offer guidance and support as you work on your own soundscape.

This workshop is suitable for those with basic knowledge of Ableton Live.

Please note: ticket registration closes 30 minutes prior to event start time.
