Please join alumni writers from Carver Center's Literary Arts program, as we gather for a reading to memorialize our creative writing teacher, Bonny Boto. Bonny was the Literary Arts Chair at Carver for more than a decade. After her retirement from teaching, she was the Vice President of the Ochan Self-Help Alliance in Uganda. She was devoted to women's health, social justice, and to each and every student who passed through her classroom. She single-handedly designed and ran this comprehensive, free, four-year writing program, which helped emerging writers discover their voice and lay the foundation for lifelong practice. Her former students want to honor that ongoing practice, and Bonny's memory, through this evening--shaped after the Coffeehouse events which Bonny loved so much.
